Paal Kibsgaard

Chief Transformation Officer

Paal Kibsgaard is driving bold transformation across JPI, leveraging over 28 years of global executive leadership and operational experience. As Chief Transformation Officer, he is leading efforts to insource and integrate the real estate project lifecycle; optimize and digitally enable all real estate and construction workflows; and re-define site operational performance by applying advanced process engineering—creating an industry first, highly differentiated, and fully scalable operating platform.

Before joining JPI, Paal co-founded Symfoni, a construction technology company focused on optimizing the project lifecycle, through advanced process re-engineering and operational integration. His transition to construction and real estate development in 2019, from a distinguished career in oil and gas, was motivated by the opportunity to transform a huge but stagnating industry, with massive untapped potential.

Previously, Paal served as Chairman and CEO of Schlumberger Limited (NYSE: SLB), where he led one of the most significant transformations in industry history. Under his leadership, Schlumberger reached a peak market capitalization of $120 billion, solidifying its position as the world’s largest oilfield services provider with operations in over 80 countries. Holding a MSc in Petroleum Engineering, from the Norwegian Institute of Technology, Paal began his career as an engineer at ExxonMobil in 1992, working in Norway and Australia. He joined Schlumberger in 1997, initially based in Saudi Arabia. At Schlumberger, he quickly advanced through operational and technical roles, working in Kazakhstan, France, and the US, before becoming CEO of Schlumberger in 2011, and later also Chairman of the Board in 2015.
