Jason Shepard

With over 25 years of experience in real estate development, Jason specializes in land planning, entitlements, permitting, and construction management. His expertise in large-scale master-planned communities and multifamily developments has positioned him as a leader in navigating complex regulatory processes and fostering strong relationships with municipalities, government agencies, and key stakeholders.

As Vice President of Development, Jason oversees the full development cycle, from due diligence to construction completion. His hands-on leadership approach ensures regulatory compliance, manages environmental assessments, and drives successful stakeholder negotiations.

Before joining JPI in 2024, Jason played a key role in entitling and developing more than 8,500 residences across Southern California and Arizona. His extensive background in asset acquisition, entitlements, land development, and construction has contributed to the creation of thriving communities.

Jason holds a Bachelor of Science in Regional Development with a minor in General Business from the University of Arizona and a Certificate in Urban Planning from the University of California, San Diego. He is also a licensed Class A & B General Contractor in California.

Outside of work, Jason enjoys spending time with his wife, three children, and their dogs. An avid outdoorsman, he values an active lifestyle and cherishes time with family and friends. Passionate about mentorship, he is committed to supporting his team’s growth by sharing the insights and knowledge gained from his own career mentors.
