Alvaro Sande

Alvaro Sande is Vice President of Capital Markets at JPI, bringing more than 20 years of real estate and capital markets experience across North and South America.

Alvaro’s career spans development, construction, private equity, and fundraising. He spent a decade leading development efforts for a major South American developer operating in Arizona and Mexico, where he managed land acquisitions and sales, secured entitlements, negotiated debt and equity, and delivered condo projects through close coordination with architects and general contractors. He later served in business development leadership roles at UEB Builders and Katerra, where he oversaw teams responsible for securing over $350 million in construction work and managing a $2 billion pipeline.

As a partner at Altura Capital, Alvaro directed private equity investments in 14 U.S. real estate projects totaling nearly $80 million in equity and led the firm’s day-to-day operations. Most recently, he raised $30 million in equity for a large multifamily developer, primarily from foreign capital partners.

Alvaro holds a BA from Adolfo Ibáñez University in Chile and an MBA from Babson College in Boston. Outside of work, he’s an avid tennis player and golfer, and has served on more than five nonprofit boards.
