JPI Breaks Ground on Jefferson Inglewood

This new community will bring 222 homes to Inglewood, California in early 2026

Inglewood, California (January 29, 2024) – JPI, a leader in the development of Class A multifamily communities, held a groundbreaking ceremony today to commemorate the start of construction on Jefferson Inglewood, which will bring 222 homes to Inglewood, California. The ceremony was attended by Inglewood’s Mayor James Butts, representatives from the offices of Senator Steven Bradford and Assembly Member Tina McKinnor, and various project partners.

This 8-story, transit-oriented community will host a combination of market rate and affordable housing in studio, 1-bedroom, and 2-bedroom configurations. Utilizing the City of Inglewood’s Transit Oriented Development (TOD) plan and design guidelines, the project offers unique features that enhance the streetscape while providing residents with ready access to multiple nearby transit options. Each home will be equipped with premium amenities, such as stainless-steel appliances and full-sized, in-unit washers and dryers. Beyond the unit amenities, Jefferson Inglewood will maintain a number of outdoor spaces to support a thriving community, such as a large pool and cabana, beautiful clubroom, well-equipped fitness center, rooftop deck, and much more.

“Inglewood is such a cool community that has a wonderful history and vibrant future,” said Sunti Kumjim, Senior Vice President and Regional Development Partner for JPI. “We are thrilled to continue building upon the rich history of Inglewood and provide much-needed housing that will support ongoing growth in the Inglewood community for years to come.” The Jefferson Inglewood project is just one of many exciting developments happening in the City of Inglewood. City Staff, the Architecture and Engineering Team, and Capital Partners have collaborated over the past 1.5 years through entitlements and permitting to bring this premier community to the residents of Inglewood.

The new Jefferson Inglewood community is three metro stops from El Segundo, recognized as the aerospace and defense capital of the world. Just one metro stop from Jefferson Inglewood, the city of Los Angeles is currently working on The Automated People Mover (APM) – the largest public works project in the history of the City. This project includes an electric train system on a 2.25-mile elevated guideway with six stations total – three inside the Central Terminal Area (CTA) and three outside the CTA. The project recently received $1B in federal funding and is expected to commence in 2024.

Partners on the community include TCA Architects, Englekirk Engineering (Structural Engineering), and Kimley Horn Associates Engineering (Civil Engineering).

First occupancy for Jefferson Inglewood is planned for early 2026. Interested residents are encouraged to visit the Jefferson Inglewood community page for more information and updates.
